1. Call the meeting to order.

2. Welcome all to the Evaluation Contest.

3. Introduce Evaluation Chairman

1. Open with brief remark or story

2. Please make the following announcements:

a. Anyone with a pager or cellular phone should place It on silent alarm or check it at the registration desk and you will be notified if paged.

b. No flash photography of the contestants during the contest. There will be photo opportunities later.

c. Once the contest has begun, the sergeant at arms will secure the doors, members of the audience are asked to refrain from leaving or entering the room during the contest. After the contest, no one will be permitted to leave the room until all ballots are collected.

3. State – The winner of the evaluation contest will represent Division K at the District 21 Conference on Saturday, November 5th

4. Ask – Are all contestants in the room? Are there any questions at this time?

 

5. Ask – Chief Judge -Have all Contestants and Officials been briefed? Wait for an affirmative reply.

Explain timing:  Disqualified if speech is less than 4:30  or more than 7:30

Green 5 Amber 6 Red 7

6. Ask – Timers are you ready to begin?

9. State – There will be one minute of silence after each contestant and two minutes after the final contestant, to allow time for the Judges to mark their ballots.

12. State – The speaking order for the contest was determined earlier this evening by having our contestants draw for position. The order for the contest will be:

Read only the name and number of the contestants at this time.

15. Note: During one minute of silence. have the sergeant at arms prepare next contestant and wire for sound.

16. Note: After the final contestant. call for a signal after two minutes of silence.

19. Ask – contestants to join you in the order of appearance.

20. Ask – for applause as they approach stage.

21. Contestant Interview: Present certificate, and ask each the same question. If time is short, perhaps just the club they represent and the length of time they have been in Toastmasters.

22. Return control to Contest Chairman.
